Concerning The Middle Pillar Ritual
By Jeff Fairbanks
There have been, over the span of time, many theories related to the “Tree of Life” and it’s relatied “Pillars.” This cosmic model, while relative philosophically, is a static and ineffective way of accessing the desired “worlds” necessary to further ones’ spiritual development; however, it is my belief that within this existence lie ideals that may be of more significance than originally thought by some.
Basically, the Tree of Life consists of three pillars: Severity, Mercy, and, the Middle Pillar. Instead of providing pathways, which I do not deny, it is my belief that something more important exists here. It is a representation of the locked state of consciousness that mankind has been trapped in, since the Fall. Without concentrated efforts, meditative techniques, frequency override, and freedom of chakras from this imprisonment, one cannot truly overcome the forces at work here. Frequency override refers to other methods, such as the power of the Tarot, use of generators, and other fields of study only to be touched on in this presentation.
The Middle Pillar technique is most commonly used to raise power during magickal ritual, and depending on the ritual, equilibrating the energy centers with the invoked forces–the raising of the consciousness in the pursuit of the HGA. While these uses are no doubt useful in some degree, it is my belief that other uses, or, should I say, more effective means exist. The five chakras inherent in this ritual, are a means with which to free ones’ self from the chains that hold us in this illusory realm; perhaps, even, a non-mechanical way to tap into the “free energy” referred to by such pioneers of the concept as Nikola Tesla and many others.
To do this, you must first be familiar with the ritual itself. You can become familiar by purchasing any of a number of books related to the subject. The purpose of this article is not to present a ritual, but, to give some insight as to similar ideas and techniques that were spiritually presented to me, for the development of this concept.
Within the ritual, the vibration of the god-names: Eheieh, Yod-He-Vah-He-Elohim, Yod-Hed-Vah-Heh-Eloah-V’daath, Shaddai-el-Chai, and Adonai-Ha-Aretz is necessary to facilitate the operation. It is taught to visualize the chakras as balls of white light. While, again, this works, the effectiveness can be enhanced by color visualization and tonal correspondence. With respect to the order of the names, White, Lavender, Gold, Violet, and Black are colors to start with. As for tonal correspondence, this is relative also to the connection being dialed up with relation to the vibrational qualities associated colors. This is another topic for a much more advanced article. However, the persistent student may find parallels on his/her own.
This being stated, add the element of Platonic solids to the visualization, for the purpose of creating a torsion field of sorts, to elevate the effectiveness of the mediation to it’s proper level. One I have tried with some interesting results, is the visualization of colored pyramids, and, adding the element of rotation to create conical energy fields. This can be used to increase energy levels of other systems of Magick, such as reflective Arcana visualization as well. Interestingly enough, the charging of crystals, such as the ones provided by us, can actually take place with the use of this ritual, instead of vampirically “stealing” energy from other sources, demonstrated by some other sites. I believe that there are tremendous possibilities that exist within the imaginative and philisophical application and study of this ritual with relation to these and other topics. The goal is the conversation with your HGA, in most cases, and, to break free, consciously or otherwise, form the auric force-field that holds us prisoner and tosses us about, like a ship without a sail. Experiment freely, and, do not look for others to think for you; only, look for inspiration to evolve, and, follow your Voice.
